RUSHD: From academic operations research to practical software
RUSHD was developed to make Operations Research models easier to use in real scenarios. Instead of relying only on manual calculations or scattered tools, the software provides a structured environment for building, solving, saving, and reviewing optimization problems.
As Team Leader of Medad, my role is to coordinate the product direction, technical development, user experience, and business requirements of RUSHD. The goal is not only to build a working academic tool, but to develop a software product that can grow into a reliable decision-support system for education and business use cases.
Team
Medad team is responsible for designing, developing, improving, and preparing RUSHD as a market-ready software product.
My Role
I lead the team, manage the technical roadmap, and work on connecting business analysis, software engineering, and AI-driven optimization.
Current Client
Our current client and institutional development case is October University for Modern Sciences & Arts (MSA).
Current development for MSA
We are currently developing and adapting RUSHD for October University for Modern Sciences & Arts (MSA). This gives the product a strong educational use case, because Operations Research is an important area for management, business, analytics, and decision-making students.
The MSA use case helps us improve the product in a practical direction: clearer input screens, better outputs, model access control, plans, device management, and a smoother workflow for students and instructors.
Vision
The long-term vision is to make RUSHD more than a calculator for Operations Research problems. We want it to become a smart decision-support platform that combines optimization models, business process understanding, and AI assistance to support real operational decisions.
